Word Doc corruption using Tracked Changes between PC and Mac?

Any one ever run into this one? I've got a client (Law Firm) that uses the TrackChanges functionality in Office 2010 for PC and Office 2011 for Mac. The Attorney uses a Mac and the assistant is on PC. This issue has occurred for 4 separate documents now, from old Docs used as templates for new actions to freshly formatted docs with just the text copied to a new file and reformatted. Once the Doc comes back to the assistant, the ORIGINAL text has random corruptions that the changes are all available to apply themselves to. The changes can reviewed, applied, and added to, but the original text has gone wacky. Almost like random characters get changed or spacing is added and/or missing.

I'm assuming that there is an issue between PC and Mac, as assistants all on PC have been able to pass change tracked documents around w/o issue.
 
I get corruption even going from PC to PC with a newer version sometimes. I fing hate MS word lately.
