Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knows of how to make word use sounds with your keystroke.

My lady wants it to sound like a typewriter when she pounds stuff out in Word.

I knew of one in the early days, I think during the Win98 pre SE days, but can't remember what it was called. I googled it but can't even come up with a site for adding ANY kind of sounds to your keystrokes.

Anyone know of anything like this?

Go here and prepare to rue the day you asked for help finding this monstrosity. Keystroke sounds... Ugh. Just put some Fritos under the keys for her... LOL

BTW, googled it.

Thanks, I must be retarded or something, 'cause for the life of me I could not find it on google.

Yeah, its for the love of my life, so I have to deal with it, thinking about making her use headphones while she is writing.

Thanks again. You helped me score some brownie points with her.;)

Heh.

I had (May still have it, not sure if I tossed it) an old IBM PS/2 Keyboard (the monsters)

It had a small piezo speaker in it, and a small switch under it.

When you turned the switch on, it would make a nice click noise, like a typewriter almost (a little synthetic, but who's counting)

This is on TOP of the original clickey sounds those keyboards are famous for, of course.

I have an old keyboard around here that does the whole "clink!" "clink!" sound when you hit they keys. It's cool for about a little while then I just switch it out.

got it installed for her.....then treated myself to a good pair of headphones with noise cancelling.:D

She bangs on that thing day and night......she loves it though, so I can't take it away from her even if I wanted to.

I've used real electric typewriters and honestly, I can see why she would want to get that effect. It's just more fun to type lol.
