Word 2000 mail merge hang/lag.

It doesn't matter what program I have open. I mainly use NexTech 2000 with this function.

But when I use Mail Merge in Word 2000, a bunch of instances of Word open(1 for each .doc I'm printing). It takes up to 8 minutes to open and merge 12 documents. Is this normal???

And when I go to print, I can't print any of the documents until I minimize all of them.

And even then, the only toolbar I can use/have access to, is in the first open Word doc.

The other instances of Word won't let me use/access/pulldown their toolbars.

I'm thinking Word might be corrupt???

I have noticed Norton scanning each doc for viruses as it opens, but that's only for a few seconds.

The system is a Win2K, P2-500, 256, Compaq Workstation.

Any suggestions?????

Nevermind. It turns out it was an issue with the server that NexTech was running on. Fixed it.
