Yeah, I noticed that option. What game did you use to determine the issue is fixed?

They cause some errors in HL2, with water having wierd banding. Atleast i know Nvidia will implement this from now on though :)

i don't know if it's these drivers or the fact that i wasw playing at 2048x1536 2xAA 4xAF, but my screenshot button didn't work. The screenshot folder shows black screens.

Still didn't fix mine... nor reduce it

Test settings
- CounterStrike 1.6
- 1600x1200
- AA 2xQ
- AF 4x

1600x1200, 2xAA 4xAF, F5 still fails to screencap HL2. Now trying FRAPS

Did you clamp negative LOD bias?

YES! IT'S GONE! Negative lod clamp thank you! The worst shimmering game that I have is Painkiller, especially with the flash light on and looking at walls, metal grating, stairs and certain chairs. Now it's completely gone, just amazing.

By the way, ech3lon9, try negative LOD clamp. If that still doesn't work, then it's not shimmering you're having, it may be one of the other three optimizations, either turn them off or turn to high quality; also 2xQ IMO looks like crap, try regular 2x.

Still not fixed after that, don't know. The shimmering problem is really over, if you still see it, it's something else.

aggressor, I haven't seen any FPS loss with clamp on, not even more than 10 points in any of the 3dmarks.

EDIT: I do see a slight shimmer on the side of walls and on thin shadows. But its very little. Before LOD clamp there would be shimmering everywhere. Now its exclusive to certain thin shadows or thin textures along the sides of walls either to the far left or right while walking past it and on the floor where thin shadows are horizontally facing you. Is that what you see? That just might be a resolution problem, if we had resolutions of 4000x4000, something like that wouldn't exist. It's either that, or a different kind of shimmering. The shimmering I know of is totally gone, thank goodness.

clamp + high quality? With 67.02, the topic starter said 67.xx, the newest official beta driver is called 67.02, you're using that one correct?

Plus those pictures are taken on the 11th and in one of them, it doesn't even look like theres any AF going on.

I don't have counterstrike source, but shimmering occured in counterstrike 1.6 and it's totally gone with clamp and optimizations off/high quality. It's also gone in painkiller like in areas where shimmering was bad on wooden chairs, walls, and metal grating.

Is there a counterstrike source demo?

Those screenshots and videos were taken on 66.93, but the problem is still the same on the new betas. Yes, HQ+Clamp are both enabled.

4x AA and 16x AF were used on both cards, but Fraps didn't seem to capture AA\AF.

67.02, I think people are getting confused with the 67.5 that came out a week ago. 67.02 is the newest.

Have you tried any other game than half life 2? Try painkiller or farcry. I remember the guildwars beta had lots of shimmering, I wish I was able to play it again to see if it went away, but it's not open beta anymore.

I'm not confused, I'm using the 67.02s. I don't have many other games installed (NFSU2, Doom3, UT2K4), so I can't really test. I just know it's *really* apparent in CS:S, and these drivers didn't fix it.

FRAPS worked to screenshot.

Shimmering still there.

On a side not, I'm gonna mirror that link of the shimmering videos for you.

Thanks for mirroring them. I'd like to show more people what exactly is going on so nVidia comes out with a fix instead of thinking everything is a-okay. If it helps any, nVidia screenshots and videos were taken on a BFG6800GT, the ATI photos\vids on a 9800 Pro.
