Today I built my friends A64 computer. 2800+, MSI K8T NEO, yada yada.

Anyways, heres my issue with it. It detects everything fine. The HD is a WD JB 80 gig, SATA. When XP gets ready to setup, it says no drive is detected, when it clearly is by the BIOS in the beginning.

The CDRW works fine too, and is properly detected. Any ideas?

Press F6 at the beginning of xp setup when it tells you too, and insert the driver disk which came with the mobo. Problem solved.

Of course Im new to the SATA deal.

Guess Ill grab a floppy for that computer tomorrow.

Yeah it sucks, but you do need a floppy when you install xp on an sata drive
