Perhaps this will give others some idea of what to expect in the future, and any comments are welcome
The basic setup is:
2.8c @ 3.5Ghz
ABIT IC7
2x256 Geil platinum pc4000
Offbrand case - Two exhaust, one intake.
I am in a room with A/C set to about 75F
I have managed stock voltage so far
and things are running solid still. Farcry plays like a champ, and stress testing shows no stability problems.
My ABIT windows program says 31.0 SYS, 48.0 CPU, 32.0 PWM at idle
Running two copies of Folding@home, I get 32.0 SYS, 61.0 CPU 42.0 PWM
I am running some offbrand copper heatsink that my housemate gave to me. It has a ridiculous fan on it (in the neighborhood of 6800RPM's max). I have plans to order a thermaltake tonight.
Now, I understand the ABIT temps read high in the BIOS, but I find that the windows program, at idle, is running about 5-7C lower than my bios numbers. Could the windows program actually be figuring in math to give an accurate reading, instead of reading high?
