It looks like Alienware is selling workstations with woodcrest setups?

Here
Looks like it but don't get too excited

Estimated Ship Date
Wednesday, August 02, 2006

It doesn't say "Core 2 Duo" anywhere.

edit: NM just clicked configure and saw the clock speeds & FSBs. Definitely Woodcrest. If they were shipping sooner, I think there would be a lot of extreme gamers ordering that 3Ghz Woodcrest!

Ok. That estimated ship date makes sense.

I was more confused than excited. Its not like I am going to purchase a $5,000+ workstation.

Dell gives the option now to for the Workstation 690.

Like how they have the May delay your Dell Precision 690 ship date under each of the Woodcrests.

Wow, changes the ship date from 07/20 to 08/03, yikes!

LOL, if you click on the link "may delay" though it only shows the 5110 being delayed by 25 days and the rest have a delay of "None."

I just configured a machine with the software I would want and other cool stuff . All for the low price of $12.582. No monitor all they offered was a 19"

Isn't that only 14 days delayed. It also says 10 day delay on the woodcrest cpu's. Where are you readinf from?

Click on the Workstation 690 link and then click on the May delay your Dell Precision 690 ship date link...

LOL :D gotta love Dell... I clicked on that link less than half an hour ago and it was saying "None."

Dell pulled the same thing on me when I was really tempted to order an XPS 700 with a 7900 GT. Ten minutes later I check one last time before almost giving into temptation and... "WTF? where did the 7900 GT go and why does it show a 7900 GS now?"

Configure a system here and see what they say!

It shouldn't take that long to get a woodcrest system from dell. They have the chips and are putting them in systems, here's a little teaser for you.

Yeah, they mispelled it within CPU-Z, check out some of the woodcrest reviews, it's the same on all of them.
