Hi, I have a p5n32-sli deluxe and a pent d and im trying to install 2 maxtor sata drives with the onboard nvidia raid controller and when i go to install windows and go to partition the hdd it goes back to the screen without any partitions. I have updated my bios to the 0308. installed the raid drivers and configured the raid in the bios And I have checked both hard drives and they both work and it will partiton a ide hard drive that I have. And even when i try to do just regular sata without raid it still wont let me partiton a single sata hard drive.
Any help would be much appreciated

you might try getting another xp cd, or try changing the ram. i've seen bad cds and/or bad ram do weird things like this. hope this helps.

Thanks for the replys, but I have tryed 3 differnt xp disc and still no go :(

Have you created a raid stripe set in the raid controller's bios? Once you've done that, and installed the raid drivers within windows you should be able to create the partition.

Maybe you can bit a bit more verbose:

"when i go to install windows "

Does that mean that you are trying for a fresh install of WinXP? Onto the RAID array? Any other HDDs in your machine?

"go to partition the hdd it goes back to the screen without any partitions"

so you see the HDDs once and hit 'c' to create a partition, but instead of being able to select the size, it drops you back to the 'partitioning screen' of the text section of a WinXP install?

"installed the raid drivers "

does this mean that you hit F6 and had it read them from a floppy or integrated them on your install media?

considering that

"it still wont let me partiton a single sata hard drive"

let me ask if you are overclocking?
