They admit in an interview (puffing intel core i7 cpus no less) that the tradeoff with deferred rendering is that "anti-aliasing" is a challenge, which is PR speak for "we didn't take the time to implement anti-aliasing."

I don't want to drown out the opinion of people who like the game and the graphics, since a game CAN have merit without anti-aliasing, but in my opinion any game that doesn't implement anti-aliasing for whatever reason is a TURD. There is no excuse for it. DirectX 10 allows for it. I feel like games without anti-aliasing are like child's toys or something. They aren't giving us a quality experience.

thanks for the link. i agree, i hate it when developers don't take the time to include AA. that being said, i have absolutely no idea what it takes to get AA to work with deferred shading so i'm not really qualified to judge. i played Bioshock all the way through without AA and i loved that game, so i guess i'll just put up with it in Wolfenstein as well. at 1920x1080 it shouldn't be too bad.
 
7.3/10 at IGN. Sorry I got confused when I was talking about Gears of War above I thought this was an Unreal Engine game I forgot this was Tech 4.
 
I bought it and have been playing it. The grpahics are good and the gameplay is really fun so far. I have yet to try multiplayer but if multiplayer is as good as RTCW`s was, than I give this game a 9/10.
 
Considering that I can't run AA on my Gateway P-7811FX, I really have no problem with any PC game not supporting AA. Now, once I get home from Iraq and I'm back on my desktop things will be different. Until then, I don't care about something I can run anyway!
My wife will be dropping this in a box for me tomorrow. It'll take two weeks to get here. I can't wait!

Who needs AA when you have 2xGTX260s in SLI with 1920x1200 on my HP-LP2475W awesomeness LCD screen?

Not me, like everyone said, the graphics are great but the gameplay is fun. I'm still getting it tonight...

I always play with 2XAA or else I can see jaggies.
 
Why is everyone crying about AA? From what I'm reading on the wolfenstein forums, the multiplayer is what you should be crying about.

There's no excuse for disappointing the huge fan base of one of the most successful and popular online games in history either... but I guess AA is more important than that here at [H].

If I was in Iraq I probably wouldn't be as concerned about the AA either. Do you get sufficient internet there to hit up any multiplayer servers?
 
I'm on the third level of the campaign and so far it is pretty fun.

A store on ebay years ago sold all kinds of neon lights with logos. I wanted to order more than one but they wouldn't combine shipping. Wolf ET is one of my most favorite games so I bought this custom light when I stumbled upon it.
 
I picked it up at lunch as well. Stuck here at work for another 2 and a half hours then stuck at the gym for an hour. I'm dying to play, I need a break from my WoW'ing.

^^^ sort of the same story here. stuck at work for another few hours, then at the gym for an hour, then i'm watching Big Brother with my gf (yes, i love reality tv...don't you judge me). chances are i won't be playing at all tonight.

Not great, but it isn't that bad, IMO. Probably comparable to games that came out around 2004-2006. Most games seem to be stuck around that era due to consoles.

I'm curious if multiplayer takes off.
 
ok so if it looks doo doo on the PC then i can only imagine what the 360 version looks like. i bought it for the 360 havent opend it yet due to alot of reviews saying it sucks and the gfx are poo.

yesh and im sorry if i make people mad lol I love graphics and i tend to stray away from games that cant produce.
 
I would post in-game images if I knew which button takes the images. I don't feel like installing fraps just for that.
 
How's the story and gameplay feel? I've been wanting a new decent FPS other then replaying Rainbow Vegas 2 and COD4.
 
The singleplayer is fun and has some really hi res textures. No AA in singleplayer but strangely i can enable in multiplayer. The multiplayer kinda sucks right now. It feels like ETQW where you just spray at someones face until they die and dont really worry about aimaing. The game feels to jerky and laggy in multiplayer for precise aiming. I also read somewhere that the dev team behind the multiplayer was fired on release.
