Anybody think this new title from ID is going to be any good? Haven't heard much about it but it comes out soon.
 
Already a couple of threads on this. All i can say is i will be buying this tomorrow.
 
I saw this gameplay video at youtube, it was an x360 version though I think, with this couple of guys from the developer team... it looked interesting, the fast paced gameplay, supposedly contain secret location for players to discover. the gore looks pretty good too.

But who knows how the PC version will turned out to be. I hope there won't be a huge load of bugs
 
Has any found a digital purchase place yet? If not I guess I'll be heading to Best Buy tomorrow.
 
i will be picking it up for PC tomorrow after work, looking forward to a good PC shooter.
 
Its funny you guys are asking, today I went on steam and to a bunch of Digital download sites looking to order this. I guess as of right now there aren't any. I will be going to wal mart tomorrow.
 
Yeah this is BIZZARE. I simply can't remember the last game I COULDN'T buy digitally. I've bought boxed copies a couple of times last year because they were cheaper than digital but honesntly a PC game without digital distribution these days is just flat out BIZZARE.

Yes, we'll be going to the store tomorrow!
 
just a note for those who are going to buy the game. Best buy is giving a $10 gift card away with the purchase of wolfenstein for PC.

I'm guessing Activision has some agreement where the brick and mortar stores get first crack at this.

I think this is insanely stupid, especially on a high profile and high demand title like this, especially on the PC front.

If I were Steam or any of these other digital downloads sites, I'd really be upset and all over this.

Activision is simply costing themselves sales. Typically, you see Steam and the other services advertise preorders weeks in advance and all that does is rack up interest and sales.

Today I see Steam put an update up for a preorder on friggin' Football Manager out in October but it's dead quiet when it comes to something like this?

Doesn't make any good business sense to me any way you cut it.
 
My guess would be there is some kind of Steam integration that isn't going to be complete on time or there is some reason why they want this sold only through brick and mortar channels.

Probably because it has been in the works for a long time, revamped then hurried out?

Just my guess. I prefer a disc to steam by a lot. I like things tangible.
 
Wrath of the Lich King for WoW was not available for download from Blizz for a week or so after it was released....

I think it may be to try and give B&M stores a chance to earn some of the money first.

Plus it probably helps get word out about the game as well. How many stores are gonna see a lot of people waiting to buy good games on release day? Helps hype up the game and generate more sales.

And if it was available digitally on day one it would probably have a bad effect on download servers. This way, the people that want it the instant it comes out won't be jumping on a download server to grab it.
 
Discs aren't so bad but they can get lost or damaged. I just lost my F.E.A.R. disc, the original release and I have no idea where it went. Arrrrgggg! With Steam this doesn't happen so I love the convenience.
 
i went to Target in my town last friday, and there were 2 copies of Wolfenstein out on the new release shelf. i grabbed one and when my wife and i tried to checkout, the cashier said "sorry, i can't sell this to you, it's not supposed to be available until the 18th." i was like, "you fucker!" ok, not out loud, in my head. :D
 
Launch day and still nothing whatsoever on Steam. Amazing.
 
I hope someone will post if they get a copy or at the very least see the PC version on shelves. I will try and hit up the local Gamestop at lunch to see if they are out yet..
 
The gamestop I frequent had all its copies in yesterday and it was streetdated for today... Should be the same at all locations so yours should have it too.

i don't think there will be a problem finding this game in retail stores. many targets have had them on the shelf since friday (see my post in another thread)...so i think it's safe to say retailers have their copies in hand.
 
Thanks for the posts guys, I was just thinking that if it has been on Target shelves or being put out today at other stores we should have gotten some reputable reviews or at least very soon.
 
Ive rear around the web that Walmart will have a "instore price" that will beat even online retailers... I went by my local walmart and they didnt have any instock yet for pc. Only ps3 and xbox
 
I was at Fry's and they didn't have it like the newspaper said they would. I ordered it online from Best Buy because it came with a free $10 gift card. That's a sneaky way to discount things. Nobody can price match it, and you have to spend the money at their store again.
 
I just picked this up at my local BestBuy for $49.99 and a free $10 gift card which I put to purchase David Gilmour Live at the Gadansk Shipyard for $14.95.
So Gilmour live 2 cd set for $5. OK'

Oh yeah, there were no games on display and I had to ask someone to see if they had it.
The guy came back with one game. Two minutes later a customer approaches me and ask if I got the last one. I told him to ask someone to get him one and they might want to bring out a few more- wtf?

Loaded Wolf on Vista64 set it to my native 1680x1050 and it looks pretty dam good.
Options are limited, you can tell it's a port setup but what little I played I really like.
I made a profile for mp and there was quite a few servers going already but it's back to sp now for me.
I think being overly critical re: state of the art graphics etc is useless.
I'm going to enjoy this game
 
Thanks Bloe, how do you feel about the graphics? Are they at least up to par with current games (not necessarily top of the line ones like Crysis) but good enough like Stalker etc. Besides the limited options does it feel like a consol shooter? Jerky etc.?
 
The graphics look fine to me. Not Crysis but not bad either.
Anti aliasing works in MP not SP iirc, and AF works in both.
The opening scenes are great especially if you remember BJ Blaskowics from RTCW.
 
There is no anti-aliasing in single player???? I'l will NEVER buy this. Never. What a bunch of garbage.
 
Can you force the AA from like the nvidia panel? I don't think I will be purchasing this either if it doesn't have AA in the Singleplayer.
 
How about see if your vid card allows it or wait for another driver update b/c you don't get AA. Call a helpline please.
 
I'm sure the lazy fucks just didn't implement it. Gears of War PC used anti-aliasing fine and that was a 2007 release.
 
The game is getting crapped on in the official wolfenstein's forums. If it got fanboi praise anywhere, I would imagine that would be the place. Hmm.
