Wizzard driver queestion

I had the 3.7 wizzard drivers on my 9500, softmodded drivers to a 9700. Well I thought it was time to upgrade to the newest ones, so I updated with the newest 4.3 softmodded drivers. After I installed the drivers I ran the new drivers in 3dmark03, and my score fell 25 points. Why is this? I thought newer drivers were suppose to be faster. Thanks
 
25 points? 25 points are well within the margin of error for 3dmark. Run it several times and take the average score.
