Hi all i am looking to buy a new mp3 player my budget is around $250
the Archos Gmini 220 got my attention as well as the Zen Touch 20GB
or if u guys can recomend something better please do

the use of ther player for long walks and bike rides
 
I don't think it's a good idea to get a hard-drive based player if you plan to use it while exercising.
 
$189 for a 1GB mp3 player sounds a bit high for me. I just payed $199 for a Creative Zen Micro 5GB on E-Bay. Or I could have gotten it at Walmart for ~$210. I don't think the fact that it is harddrive based should be of any worry. Normal use should not have any adverse effects on the unit.

It shouldn't, but it does. Hard drives break ireperably if dropped. Dropping something while exercising happens normally. Even if not dropped, hard drives can have a difficult time seeking when being moved about, and that will cause skipping and broken audio.
