Wireless pcie desktop NIC recommendation

No wire available at my desktop location for the near future. Right now I am using an ASUS PCE-N53 card and it sucks. Software takes 30+ seconds to load after desktop boots. Please recommend something better, corded antenna would be a plus. I am 10 feet and one wall away from the router (asus RT-N66U).

Get a wireless bridge instead if possible or a router that can do client mode.

I'm using a TP-Link WDN3800. I didn't bother with installing the software. Just downloaded the Atheros drivers. It connects quickly, and stays connected.
