i just need a router so that my parents can browse downstairs while i play games upstairs. the question is, does wireless networking cause games like counter strike to lag? is your ping higher? would you recommend this router Draytek Vigor 2600G? thanks very much! just a short one but hope you can answer

Wireless gaming is doable, but you might have times where you see packet loss which may cause some problems. However if you put the router next to your computer, get your parents a wireless card, you should be able to have a wired connection for gaming. The Vigor has a built-in switch so you should be fine there.

I use wireless for Guild Wars. I don't have a problem with it. But, I can't use TeamSpeak via a wireless connection because it's too chopy.

ok well 1 more question. for wireless is it possible to have me with a direct modem upstairs and my dad downstairs on a laptop with a reciever? will that solve the problem of choppy signal for speech and games because im the main one plugged in? he doesnt need good quality bandwidth, he just browses sites. i need to make sure my bandwidth isnt affected somehow.
