wireless networking and MSN messenger problems

Hey all, have the netgear Wireless MR814v2 router. I have a wireless network setup, and I am a newbie, so I might have missed something. The interenet works great, pages load, hotmail takes longer then usual. But everytime I try to sign in on MSN messenger my whole network crashes. Anyone else having this issue? I did a search on google and found that I am not the only one. Is there a solution?
