Hey guys.

My girlfriend gave me an older computer of hers, an Acer Aspire 4730z. For whatever reason, connecting to my wireless network is really finicky with this thing. I've done it before, but turning off or restarting the computer can mess it up.

I haven't reformatted the computer since I had trouble mounting the Vista ISO (long story), but I have uninstalled all the bloatware on it, install all Windows updates (I'm on it right now via ethernet) and reinstalled the wireless drivers from Acer's website. Still, this is what happens:

It sees the available connection...

Tries to connect...

Nothing. :(

When I choose "Diagnose the problem" it just says it did not receive any response from the wireless router or access point. My sister and her friend are on the network right now though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would love to be able to use this thing to browse the internet around my house since my other computer is a desktop.

what I would do is right click on the wireless network listed and go to properties. There check the security to make sure that it matches the security type that you set up on the router.
