Wireless mouse glitch when loading WinXP...

I recently built a new computer and everything works fine but I bought a Logitech Premium Desktop Optical with a wired keyboard and wireless mouse. The keyboard cord splits and hooks up as both the mouse and keyboard, and obviously the reciever for the optical mouse is in the keyboard. But when loading the computer, I get to the User screen for WinXP, where I have a password protected username, and the mouse works every time. But sometimes when I put in the password and it fully loads Windows, the mouse freezes and fails to work at all on the desktop. I have to restart several times for it to eventually work, and after playing with it alittle bit, I found that if I continually move the mouse back and forth while Windows loads, it will act like it wants to freeze, but eventually it will start moving again and be fine.

Like I said i'm running WinXP, and the mouse works every time on the user screen no matter what...it's just when Windows loads to the desktop that it freezes. If anyone has ever run into this or knows what might be wrong it would be appreciated.

Try uninstalling any logitech mouse/keyboard software you are using and then reinstalling it. Sounds silly, i know, but i had a similar problem a few weeks back and that fixed it. You will probably need to scrounge up an old mouse to get by in windows though.
