hey what do you guys prefer wired or wireless?

i bought a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, after a week i had to change the baterry. this sucks, i am back with wired stuff.

I know there are some better wireless solutions out now...

But I dont want to bother with changing batteries or worrying about my mouse dieing when im about to cap a nazi. I stick with wired.

I would mind getting a IR media center keyboard with a track pad or nub for my old shuttle that has become my media center. I'd need a IR receiver though.

for HTPC wireless/bluetooth. For main and work rigs... wired....especially work rigs with confidential data.

The only good wireless keyboards and mice in my opinion are bluetooth. Dell makes a decent set and does apple. Dell's set will last a good month or more on 4 double A batteries (2 each). I have two of those sets and use one for my laptop and the other for when I use my PC as a HTPC from the couch.

I like the apple wireless keyboard and the microsoft arc wireless usb mouse.

i would never have a wireless keyboard, for one i dont sit back with it in my lap or on a couch or something? and two, it would have to be a big drain on batts wouldnt it? im swapping the batts in my logitech g7 at least once a day.

if your worried about the wire on your desk you can drill a hole in the middle of it and run it down through that way, or cut a hole in the side of your lcd base and run it under it out towards the back of your desk?

wireless keyboard/mouse gets annoying.

i prefer wired since i dont have to keep switching batteries

battery life on my wireless keyboard/mouse is fantastic. For example, with my BT Microsoft mouse, I get at least 2 months or more before I have to replace the batteries. I say 'or more' cause I don't really remember how long it last as it seems to go on forever.

4 AA batteries on my ancient keyboard [really, one of Logitech's first wireless] lasts for av. of 6 months... Most non-gaming mice can live off a single AA for over a month too.

wireless keyboard is better, there are lot of new brands out there to choose.
check out best one, keep going with wireless

I love wireless keyboards and mice except for rechargable ones. I have bad luck with li-ion batteries loosing their charge.

I've had my DiNovo Edge for almost two years, and the response time is awesome, no noticeable lag at all. The battery needs a charge about every three months, and I use it daily, sometimes for hours on end, so.....

As for mice, I have a MX Revolution, and it sucks in my opinion. The battery lasts about two days and the lag is awful... I really can't stand it...

I have Logitech VX Revolution and the battery life is well over 2 months on 1 battery. That includes heavey duty game play.

My Dinovo edge finally needed to be charged last week after owning it for a year. Granted I use it for my HTPC, but it sat in the stand (unplugged, so it wasn't charging all the time) for a year before needing to be charged. Not to mention it is a really good piece of hardware.

I prefer wireless for the mouse and wired for the keyboard. I once tried a wireless combo from Logitech but the keyboard kept disconnecting every now and then (after two RMAs...).

I wished (and I still do), however, that my G7 batteries would last longer.
