I'm rather new in this field, but I need you guys help. Basically, I'm trying to set up a wireless internet access in area of about 4 acres. There are a lot of building and tree. How would you guys suggest I go about. Budget is around 1000 dollars. Please provide links to equipments if you are talking about it. Please understand, I'm rather new at this, so please use layman's term as much as possible. Thank you.

You basically need your router to get your network to connect to the internet, a dhcp server to hand out IP addresses to clients as they connect (built into almost all routers if that's best for you), properly spaced Wireless Access Points for coverage, and a means to cable all of those WAPs back to your router or a switch attached to your router.

Setup each WAP to broadcast the same SSID, and you should be in business. 4 acres is a lot of space and $1000 isn't much money though... especially if there's no infrastructure in place at all. If you only need access within the builings, it may be feasible, but if you need the outside areas covered, that's going to be a rough task.

can you clarify what exactly is a Wireless Access Points. Is it another?

Okay, I think I understand what you are saying so I'll sum it up and correct me if i'm wrong.

Basically, get a wireless router (it has a dhcp in it) get a switch that will extend the ports, get a bunch of wireless routers such as the linksys wireless you can get it through walmart for 50 dollars a piece, wire it with cat5 cable and evenly distributing the routers to maximize distance and I should be set?
