I'm looking for a wireless headset that I can use from home for work purposes and I need your advice! Of course I would prefer a pair with good sound but what's most important is that the microphone works well. I tried a pair recently and although the sound was excellent the users either couldn't hear me clearly/loudly enough or the sound kept breaking up. Now, I'm not sure if that's because the Bluetooth signal between the headset and the laptop wasn't strong enough (because the Bluetooth receiver in the laptop is garbage) and/or because I use a VOIP app (Bria) to make/take calls. Note that when I work from the office I use a pair of wired headphones (USB) that work pretty well without the sound breaking up. So, that's why I suspect the choppy audio that I experienced with the Bluetooth headphones I tried was a limitation of the technology. I'm wondering if using a Bluetooth headset in combination with a Bluetooth USB adaptor/transceiver (such as those that come with some wireless mice; see pic) would improve the signal enough to prevent the choppiness. Can anyone comment on the same? A friend sent me this link for the 5 best Bluetooth headsets and this headset comes with just such a USB adaptor but they cost $150. A lot more than I was hoping to have to spend:
