Been a long time since I had to deal with wireless. I am going to be commuting for a few months for my new job, staying in an apartment 2-4 nights a week that only has wireless. I game with my wife, so I need to get a wireless card for my desktop.

Any recommendations? I play mostly Rift and sometimes BF3 so something reliable would be nice.

I've always bought the USB ones from Monoprice, no issues with it on 24/7, running torrents, etc.

I purchased the TP-LINK TL-WDN4800, 450mbps, dual band pci card. Been working good so far, but I'm not sure if I will return it and just go with ethernet and deal with the cable being run from the router to the desktop.

I dont have a choice on using wired unfortunately. So a card it is. They have one of those WDN4800 on amazon but no prime shipping. Bah

I choose to get the dual band TP link card only because I have a dual band e4200 router. Ever since this purchase, I fail to see the point of dual band lol

You could always opt for a USB dongle. It's fast, cheap, and easy, and will do the trick. This of course depends on speed, but that shouldn't be an issue since even USB 2.0 is faster than most internet connections.

i picked up a cheap rosewill pci-e adapter, n180 something or other, for about $20 from newegg back in april for my bedroom pc. granted, i don't game on that one but it's been solid.

The TP-Link card is a good one if you want a final product, otherwise a Mini PCIe adaoter and a Atheros AR9380 based card might be not such a bad idea.

Get the Linksys AE3000 Dual-Band Wireless-N Adapter (works best with Linksys)

Most solid product with speed and range that are very good for anything. I could not find any quality mini e to PCIe adapter to fully utilize the power of intel ultimate N 6300.

Getting a good wireless PCIe adapter is a pain and it is unfortunate that intel does not make one.
