Wireless Desktop Gaming?

Does anyone run their desktop wireless for gaming? Moving in a few weeks and my have to run my desktop off WiFi since it will be in the basement. Anything recommended to do this or should I find a way to run wired? I've always found a way to run an Ethernet cable to my PC.

Thanks for any help. Also, if it matters, I run 18meg internet.

I game over a wireless bridge on my desktop, and on wifi on my laptop all the time. As long as you have sub 90ms ping (completely doable on even decent 2.4Ghz N) it should work pretty well. Obviously super-twitch games will lend better to wired connections just so you don't have that extra inherent latency.

Really depends how stable you can get the connection. A stable WiFi connection will be fine, but don't expect super low latency. Any kind of interference the signal gets you'll feel it in the game you're playing.

Well, I have AT&T Uverse. The box they use is a modem/router combo I believe. My PC will be directly below where the modem/router is. So maybe 10 feet separation through a floor. Certain wireless adapter I should buy?
