I recently did a format of my hard drive and installed a copy of XP Pro(dated before SP1 was even out) and spent like 3 fucking hours installing all the windows updated including SP2. Well when I installed my wireless NIC, and had all those restarts, I notice it took the wireless connection about 2 to 3 minutes to start up, and while it was starting up for those 2 to 3 minutes after I reached the desktop, it basically locks up my computer until it starts. Before I did the format, it was started when I reached the desktop. Why is it taking an extra 3 minutes to start? Everything works fine though, its just annoying me, because my computer before the format would take like 20 secs to start, now im at a lousy 3 minutes!!!!! I tried reinstalling the NIC, nothing happened. Its by DLINK, and that green D that they put in your taskbar, is there when I reach the desktop, but not the windows wireless connection icon until 3 minutes after. Anyone know if theres a way to correct this?
