My friend has built a shed around 200 ft from his house. He wants wireless access in his shed for how-to videos, etc. His house has Verizon DSL to an Asus wireless router. I asked him to check the WiFi strength in the shed, and he found the signal to be weak. What would be the best way to boost signal strength in his shed? The shed does have power. I was looking at APs from Ubiquiti, but don't know what to buy.

At 200' a pair of Nanostation Locos would do it. A pair of Picostations might as well

The shed is now complete and the owner wants to install WiFi. The shed is covered in metal siding, both inside and outside. Will this degrade the WiFi signal? I'll most definitely use a Nanostation from Ubiquiti.

You use two Nanostations and bridge them together. Run Cat5 from the Nano mounted on the shed to whatever inside the shed.

I assuming that power line over ethernet is out of the question at 200 feet? The nitrate would be too low at that distance.
