Wire loom or Sleeve?

I was just curious as to how you guys decide what you are going to use. It seems EVERYONE uses sleeve(nylon or elastic type material?) Rather than a solid plastic to cover wires. I personally like the look of sleeve better for the most part.
Any recommendations on good price-to-foot spots?

I plan to start cutting in a week or 2, so i will try to start a work log, only doing some fan cuts, paint and wire organization.

It's pretty bad that I can't link you to our store because that constitutes as advertising or self-promotion, but if you can find us, we are running a free shipping weekend on orders over $30 that fit in a USPS flat rate envelops or free shipping via fedex on orders over $75 regardless of size.

never used stuff from this store but looks pretty cool.

personally i've only used techflex flexo PET and MDPC-X stuff.
flexo PET (3mm or 1/8 inch) is ok on smaller gauge wire like fan tails. when you use it on larger gauge wire (18 or 16) it starts to stretch the sleeving showing the wire insulation. the flexo CCPET is a bit better b/c of a tighter weave.

MDPC-X is very well regarded and nils (owner) is very good to deal with. the prices are decent and shipping OS is very cheap (germany to australia).

good stores;

MDPC-X. great sleeving, great shrink (4:1), excellent crimp tool.

good all round mod shop. decent prices and good variety. shipping can be pricy especially OS.

bulk techflex dealer, huge range of techflex sleeving and good shrink (3:1). large scale sliding prices (more you order, cheaper it gets) shipping can be expensive if OS.

there are a bunch of other stores, these are just the ones i've used.

Here's some of ours complete with 15mm precut 3/16" 3:1 heat shrink.

wondering, do have any pics of your sleeving on 18/16 AWG wire. this may give us a better idea how the sleeve stands up to ambient light / flash photography?

thanks guys, i will keep looking around. I am getting a few things from Frozen soon but i did notice some of their prices were a bit high.

yeah not the best place to buy from. some other forum members may have suggestions for outlets or check the 3 in my ealier post.

think jab-tech also do sleeving. their prices from memory are better than frozenCPU.
