Ok i work at a tech college and sometimes we get rid of our old PC and when we do we need to make sure that the data on them are not recoverable my any normal means (such as commercial software) so what is the best way to do this? My boss has been looking into Drive Washer but i havent found any reviews on that online anyone familiar with this program? Or is there a better program or some other way (besides physical destruction) that you would recommend?

DBAN is my suggestion, or physical destruction.

I doubt they own a magnet strong enough for wiping data, I really do.

Ill have to look into the dban but money isnt an issue we just need something so that we can tell the state that they have been securly wiped before we sell them.
