Pick your poison i recommend 7-Zip over all WinZip and WinRAR.
yup, i used 7zip for all file compression, including rar files.7zip also.
Winrar is a trial only
It still works after the 30 days, it just nags you whenever it opens.
It's free and NOT limited PLUS it does all of this.I use this it works fairly well and is free.

Winrar is a trial only, don't know about win zip.
trail that works %99 and only nags you on startup to buy but you can close out of it and still use it
And you would be using something you didn't pay for since it is trial software.

It's the same w/ alzip it's not nag ware or trial.Must not really be a problem if Eugene Roshal hasn't put in a better restriction into WinRAR to refuse to load after the 30 days.
The idea of "trial" ware is largely a joke when the software in question still works after the "trial" is over. See also: Winzip. Hell I can remember people used to joke all the time about how much past the trial that their Winzip was. Meanwhile you have other software that refuses to work after a trial (ie anything by Adobe comes to mind, like a Creative Suite product trial). WinRAR falls into a class most people refer to as "nag ware". I don't consider WinRAR to be a trial; I'd consider a CS5 trial as a "trial".
I'm not advocating it, I'm just saying. That's why I use 7zip. No nag, no trial.
