I can't really find any good information on what the advantages for WinXP x64 are. Excluding upgradability and "future-proofing" your comp, are there any real differences between the 32 bit version and the 64 bit version? I'm sure I'll have to wait for actual performance benchmarks, but are there any expectations?

Moving beyond the 2GB (4GB) memory limitation of the 32-bit OS is the biggest benefit. Performance-wise it's looking like there are minor gains to be had even when running 32-bit applications. Some upcoming 64-bit applications (Adobe's Premier Pro 64-bit version for example) have the potential to greatly improve upon the speed of the 32-bit version.

In short, if you can't think of a compelling reason to move to 64-bit right away, then hold off for a little while longer. Right now it's the territory of those with special needs. (Having to be the first kid on the block with a 64-bit Windows is considered a special need)

From everything I have seen on multiple computers. Its faster, even for 32 bit code. And feels alot smoother, even on single core A64's. The Secduler is updated. So that is a plus. I am going to get it as soon as I can. The only thing is you have rto get drivers for your stuff. Since printers are pointless and all these extra gadgets I dont have. All i have to do is get Video / sound/ Mobo drivers and im all set... all which currently exist.
