WinXP SP3 breaks remote access connection manager???

I installed sp3 on my laptop which uses sprint pcs (phone as a modem), my service will not start and I get error code :5

the fixes on the MS site are for SP2, not sure if I should go down that road.

Anyone have any idea what I should do?

Event viewer is going nuts reporting service can't start, access denied etc etc.....

I would try to reinstall the SP again.
