WinXP, no more power schemes?

Whilst changing power schemes, I had deleted some and added some more, but when i closed the power managment applet, it didnt save anything, and now i have no power schemes listed at all, as if they never saved and now the list is empty. So all the power settings for battery and AC are grayed out (so i dont know what settings it is using) and i cant do anythign to get any power schemes added or used. Any idea how i can forcibly add a power sceme, what file, registry entry i should aim for?
