Hey guys..

specs:
Windows XP Home Edition with SP2
X2 4400+
DFI NF4 UT Ultra-D(using 3.39 nvida chipset drivers)
1 gig corsair pc-3200
BFG OC 7800GTX(using 77.77 drivers)
Enermax 600 watt PSU
SATA WD 74 gig raptor

On the motherboard forum i was having problems with well..my motherboard. Thats all been fixed with a new DFI UT nf4 Ultra -D board and a new CPU to boot(X2 4400+). Now previously on my older hardware i keep getting window crashes(WinXP home ed sp2) something of a BSOD but it was fast and couldn't read it all. It did say something about hardware issues and something like physical memory dump.

So with my new hardware i installed Windows Xp on my same hard-drive the 75 gig raptor and ran fine, started up the good ol windows update and everything went fine. Rebooted the machine with the final security updates. So finally i went back in windows update to install Service pack 2 and restarted the computer...after that everything seemed to be crashing like Internet explorer. I tried running half-life 2 it'd get half way loading with the menu screen without text then crash back to desktop. So to keep this short my computer started to do the samething with the BSOD crap.

thanks guys :(

Getting the BSOD text will make it lots easier to help. Get it out of the event log; make sure your crash settings are correct.

The noob i am i forgot to meantion that ive reinstalled WinXP while I posted ..so sorry. Anyways Iam gonna try just running SP1 and no new chipset drivers for my NF4..Ive got windows running already. I'll keep you posted

Ok now this is wack. I'am running windows with SP1 with Motherboard CD drivers, everything runs fine except half-life 2, loads then it goes back to desktop. Now of course i thought try and install newest chipset drivers from nvidia(6.33) or even older drivers like the 3.33 ones. After reboot windows came up and 3 seconds later my computer crashed giving me the blue error screen. By the way, where can i find my event log so i can let you guys know what the errors about.

^^^ all errors, still under apps i have many warnings aswell.

Does this help you guys?

The error messages are nice, but they don't match your symptoms. There's no BSOD error report there.

Did you remember to fix your "Startup and Recovery" settings?
