After 15 years of development, Wine has now reached its first stable release.

Anybody take the opportunity to try it out yet? I'm compiling it as I type and would like to see if I can finally run some old 95/98 games without the font issues.

Last time I tried WINE, I cried then went and had a beer. Here's to hoping they got somewhere!
 
Well, I tried compiling but I keep on getting bullshits about not having freetype development libraries installed. I'll probably try again later this weekend.
 
Somebody tried out Team Fortress 2? I'd really like to know how that performs under Wine 1.0.

LOL, long time.

I have an InfoMagic CD set I bought 14 years ago with an early version of Wine and a few ancient distros. Time to compare? :p
