Hi, I'm trying to fix a computer for a friend of my father's and it won't even boot. It's a notebook running Windows XP. I get past the splash screen of the computer's manufacturer, but nothing after that... just a black screen. I checked the BIOS and everything seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks! :)

Edit: I tried booting into Safe Mode, but that won't work either.

Does he have a Win XP disk, either from Microsoft or the Computer Manufacturer?
