Windows XP without a Firewall

I have been using NIS 2005, but my subscription ran out, and it sucks resources so I wanted to try something new. I am now running AntiVir PE for viruses and Windows Defender and Spybot for spyware. I am not going to use XP's built in firewall, but I was wondering if I should install ZoneAlarm or something. I am behind a router with no ports forwarded, and always keep windows patched along with my other security software. I don't browse the web much in Windows, or answer e-mail. All of that is on my Linux box. Is it safe for me to run Windows without a 3rd party firewall in this situation?

you just answered your own question.

The router is basically better than any software firewall.
 
I don't want to run the Windows firewall because I use BitTorrent a lot and the Windows firewall tends to cause massive problems with BitTorrent traffic. In addition to the fact that I have disabled several resource hogging Windows services relating to the firewall, which I have no desire to reenable.

If I'm going to be allright with just the router than that is what I will use.

I'm behind a router and don't run a software firewall. I don't run the XP firewall because it only block's incoming threats and my router already does that. I don't see any advantage to turning it on even though it is there and free. If I was going to run a software firewall it wouldn't be XP's, I'd use something that monitors outbound too. Just my 2 cents :)
