Ok this is ridiculous, my sister's hard drive failed, RMA'd, got the new one today, put it in, reloaded her copy of XP, so I'm sitting here doing windows update and it WON'T let me upload SP2!! What in the world? So I updated the BIOS, did all the other updates, I have MORE than enough RAM, MHz, EVERYTHING the website suggests, I'm logged on as an administrator and nobody else is logged on. I can't believe I'm having SP2 problems. Can somebody help? She's leaving the country to work on her thesis tomorrow and I haven't even put all her work back on her PC yet! OY.

When you say it won't let you.. does it give an error message, blue screen, lock up..nothing happens...what happens? A little more detail would help.

Edit.. I have got to slow down a bit when reading.. Upload.... duh... swear I thought you were saying it wouldn't let you install it...Soooo, go ahead and ignore my questions:eek:

you could try slipstreaming it onto your copy of xp with nlite
Yes, definitely. it's scary that people still haven't done this. I know I'm wearing out my title, but it's common sense to take this step and save yourself a lot of time. On top of this, slipstream installs work so much better on average than installing SP2 after the fact.
