I'm having a problem shuting down my computer. I can click shutdown in the start menu but when it gets to the blue windows screen saying 'windows is shutting down...' it freezes there forever, until you actually shut it down holding the power button. This just started happening yesterday so i don't know what is wrong. Im having all sorts of problems with this computer, i might just have to reformat the entire thing and start over. its really pissing me off.

any one know what to do?

When I first got my e1505 I had that problem. I tracked it down to a service called GEARSecurity. I'd suggest opening up msconfig and disabling everything you know you don't need in services and startup. Restart and see if the problem is fixed. Then you'd have to keep enabling things until you ran into the issue.

or you could just do a virus scan / spyware scan ect... i know of some viruses that can cause shuddown "hanging"

what tejarz said, except one at a time till you find the culprit.. And what TLG said as well..-> Usually my first step in troublshooting a new problem with my pc is a virus/malware scan
