Ok, first of all I am not quite sure if I should put this question in forums that relate to hardware, I placed this question here in the Operation systems forum since I am troubling with a problem which occurs during the windows installion, However this problem also seems to happen during regular computer process, so the bottom line is if this thread doesn't belong to this forum, feel free to move it.

Now here is the deal:

I went to my friend's house in order to format his computer, he has a pentium 4 processor with an Intel motherboard, a Samsung HardDrive, a Generic CD Drive which really seems suspecious to me and a MSForce Nivida Graphic Card (I am sorry I am not more specific about the models but I didn't find a way to get his model number since his computer is completely formated and he has no clue.)

When I started the windows setup everything seems to be going perfectlly normal, I deleted the old partion, created a new one, formatted the new partion with the NTFS Full Format option and the files were copied with no error message.

Afterwards, the computer restarted it self and the progress bar just got stucked, so I did a little research on the internet and find out I have to disable Level 1 and 2 of the CPU Cache, I did, and it worked!

Now the setup continued from the point which it stopped at and it said: estimanted time: 39 minutes.
Me and my friend had to wait 20 whole minutes without any change or the progress bar to the left of the screen setup to show up! Also, I have noticed the entire system is going extremly slow and when I checked the temprature in the BIOS it was 50C! A Computer shouldn't be that hot when doing a format and the worst part of it it wasn't going down at all!

I have no idea what causes the computer to be extremly slow like this and that is where you guys come in: Do you have any idea what can cause this or what can resolve this sitoution?

Try loading bios defaults and run windows setup again, if you still get problems try running memtest86 for a couple of loops just to discard ram errors

I did run memtest86 and a chkdsk and memtest went smoothly and the chkdsk reported that it fixed some errors
