Windows XP not starting correctly. help! =(

Well, today, when i got home, I turned on the computer, only to have it turn itself automatically. I was suprised to see it just turn off and worried if i had a problem, so i opened the case, and checked the connections and they were all good and looked untouched. I put the side back on and turned it on.

It turns on and after i see the ASUS logo load up on the screen, i was waiting for the microsoft logo to pop up with that loading bar on the bottom. Instead, It goes into a. "We are sorry for the inconvenience, but windows failed to start normally" or something and continues for about 3 paragraphs.

It gives me a choice to go on
Safe Mode
Safe mode with Networking
Safe mode with command prompt
Last known configuration settings
and
Start windows normally.

I try start windows normally, and it restarts, only to load up to the same screen. I tried the other ones too, only to, again, have it load the same screen. I tried putting in the asus CD and microsoft CD, but it does not load up either and goes right to the screen.

If anybody can help, i'd appreciate it. Thanks
 
Yes, it started up and i got to the selection screen and chose to use the recovery option, it asks for the admin password, and i enter it, but it keeps saying it is invalid.

The actual Administrator account is hidden by default. Try a blank password- most home users don't even know there is an Administrator account on their machines.
