We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Hi guys sorry if i sound fussy but this is really annoying me....

I formatted my laptop recently and put XP home edition as supplied on the cd back on it.

Previously the welcome screen would come on with all the users listed. I would then click on an icon (or press tab twice) and the password box would appear. I type in a password and log on as usual.

Now after putting all my software back on - I've noticed the welcome screen has the top user preselected with the password box open and ready to type, which can be really iritating as I'm not used to it behaving like this.

whys it doing this??

I noticed someone esle having the same problem here -
http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=753451

It mentions Guest accounts, but I never played with them before the format so how can it help now?
