I've built a new PC for my parents and I've created 2 user accounts on it. My account (as admin) and their account (limited privs). In order to switch accounts I need to be at the machine so I can select which account I want to go to (using the Switch User) screen. Is there any way I can create a shortcut which I can use to switch the accounts without my needing to be at the machine (so I can switch from the limited account to the admin account by VNC)? From the searching I've done it doesn't look likely but I thouht I'd ask anyway.

Doing so would be a security issue as any errant app could just switch itself out of one account and into another by doing exactly what you're looking to accomplish, so the basic answer is no, it doesn't quite work that way. :)
 
You need so type of remote control software, XP Pro would an option with Remote Desktop, but there are tons of remote control apps out there.
