Windows XP Evaluation version?

Windows XP is no longer sold. No evaluation version of it exists, and if it did it'd be pointless because you can't buy the retail package.
 
What would be left to evaluate about a 9 year old OS? If you need a trial OS to stick on a system, Windows 7 might still be available.
