I have been trying to trouble shoot a slow booting Windows XP Pro machine. It currently takes around 145 seconds to fully boot up. Before I started it took over 200 seconds to boot up. While doing research I found a tool called BootLogXP (30 Day Trial) to see how long ever process takes and what takes the most time. I was wondering what kind of times everyone else gets on what systems and what processes are taking the longest?
I've gone to all sorts of tips sights and still haven't found anything that really knocks the boot time down. With increased energy costs I have gone to shutting down or going into hibernate but these boot times are a real drag.
Here are my general system specs:
Dell 9100
Pentium D 820
1 Gig Ram
Windows XP Pro
And here is my BootXPLog report.
