Windows wont load!

I have XP and it just shows the load bar and then after about 2 minutes just freezes. I was able to do a system restore before to another date from far back and then it was fine. Now when I try to do a system restore it only displays 2 nights from a week ago.

What can I do!
 
I would probably do a repair install at this point, and then rerun Windows Update.
 
You stick the XP CD in, boot from it, and choose repair install AFTER you agree to the EULA by hitting F8.
