I finally got the system in my sig working again after being out of commision for two weeks. It seemed like it was booting up fine. However, as soon as the "System Loading" screen went away while booting XP, the moniter went into standby mode. The computer continued to boot into Windows fine and I heard it log in. I checked all the connections on my video card and it still didn't work. I swapped in a Radeon 9250 that I keep for backup and it works fine, and I am typing this from the same computer. Does anybody know what could have happened? The video card is fine until it boots into Windows, and then nothing.

does it happen in "Safe Mode"? If you can get into windows in safe mode you might have corrupted drivers. Your sig say 6800GT....and you swapped in a Radeon card? you should clean your drivers....from safe mode. (check your power settings to)

also try changing to a different power connector on your card.

If your board has onboard video, disable it in the bios. Window might be thinking to run in dual screen mode, and because you haven't log into windows yet, it is using the onboard video as the main display.
