This is kind of a weird problem. I went to instal SP1 for XP Pro and everything seemed well. Then near the end my computer decidd to reboot on its own and was unable to get me into Windows normally. So i figure ok, freak accident.

I do a repair install and hesitate to get all other updates then if that goes well get SP1, well all these 78MB download and install, but when I restart I still am unable to get into windows.

It completely loads and as it switches from the boot screen to the log on screen it auto restarts. My uncle had a similar problem but I was unable to contact him.

any help would me most appreciated
 
Sounds like you are getting a BSOD and the PC is automatically rebooting, true?
 
Oh course it is, everywhere I asked this question everyone asked that. This is a paid version of Windows XP Pro Update CD, valid CD-Key the works. And I got to the normal windows boot screen and it restarts every time so I need to repair install to get back into windows
