On Windows 2000, you can tick an option to search for driver on the internet, but ever since then, in the newer versions of Windows, this has been discontinued. Why? That was a good way to get drivers.

Windows Update picks up my drivers in all versions of Windows.

I know that for 98/Me/2000/XP/2003, MS has always given the user a choice between "Express" and "Custom" searches for updates. "Express" is usually reserved for finding only important and critical updates while the latter would include optional feature packs and drivers. Are you sure you haven't selected "Express" every time you search for updates?

Works fine for me in 7. Connect the device, run windows update, and then there's a driver offered to you.
