Windows SPOOLSS - Insufficient buffer

When a user goes to print an excel document (empty or not) then clicks on the drop down to select a different printer the user will have to wait 20-30 seconds to be able to select the printer.

Wireshark shows lots and lots of SPOOLSS EnumPrintProcDataTypes response, Insufficient buffer errors. Google is only showing me samba printing but this is a windows printer server.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

How many printers are installed on this device? What kind are they?

I used to have a similar issue before with HP LaserJet 4000 PCL6 drivers. I ended up downgrading to just PCL and the issue was resolved. Perhaps using a different printer driver might help understand the problem.

Since its' a networked device, are any other computers having the same issue when they try to print from Excel or any other app (i.e. PDF Reader, Web Browser, Test Page, etc...)?

There have been no networking issues on the server and the client has tried to restart the spooling service but no change.

We are guessing a possible netbios issue. The client is going to enable netbios tonight to see if it has an impact tomorrow.
