Windows SMP Vs Linux SMP- Q's??

I'm about fed up with the windows version dropping WU's at random times because " You lost your lease." Is the linux client any better?

I can't see spending $300 on a deticated folder that hangs.

While I have not run the Windows SMP client. I have been running the Linux SMP client on my E6600 daily use rig for the last two months and have not had a single problem of any kind.

Actually, try to run with Vista since it has a robust networking stack which won't drop the client

If you drop a network connection in any of the supported OS’s the unit will stop. If the client has been set up properly you should simply able to restart and pick up where it left off. The exception of course is if the connection has been down long enough where you can’t complete the unit on time.

In Windows, any Windows system for that matter go to your NIC properties and disable the power down setting. That usually takes care of short term outages.

Worst case you can always set up an auto pinger to force a connection.
