Hey!

I need some help config my network.

DSL Modem -> Server (2x NIC) -> Switch -> WS, PS3, Fileserver

DSL Modem gives IP by DHCP.

This is what i wanna do i want to configure my 2008R2 as a router which sends out ip adresses by DHCP to my other machines and ps3. Nothing fancy really.

I just got tired of my d-link dying all the time :(. So if someone want to help me that would be great, i can even give u a little bit of money for the help!!.

Consider running something like pfSense in a VM. It's easy to set up and offers far more control than the default Windows Server routing functionality.

If you really want to do it in Windows, install the "Network Policy and Access Services" role, and then add the routing service. This works ok, but you could be in for a world of hurt trying to configure comparatively simple things like DMZ and port forwarding, especially without a web interface.

You could always use MS Forefront 2010 SP2, provides much more functionality than the default routing role.
