Hi I just installed the new Maxtor DiamondMax 10 into a Abit NF7-S 2.0 motherboard. I put it in the SATA port 1 and put the drivers in before Windows XP install. Everything Goes smoothly. Then i go to Windows XP Device Manager to see if my drive is in correctly and it says "Maxtor 6 B250SO SCSI". Is this okay, should I upgrade my BIOS of something. Im very confused because the DiamondMax 10 has NCQ'ing, 16MB buffer and Serial ATA and I want to use these features. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, it will show up as SCSI.

as far as NCQ is concerned, your SATA controller has to support it. (which your's does NOT)

cheers,

dave
